Natural Rubber or Black Commercial
Quality is available in various thickness, lengths and with widths up to 1220mm. It
is a very popular type and used in an extensive range applications. |
| Neoprene |
Neoprene
is one of the earliest synthetics, resistant to greases.
some inorganic chemicals
and many oils. Neoprene has good ageing,
weathering and abrasion resistant properties.
Can be specially compounded to be flame retardant. |
| Nitrile |
Many
grades of this synthetic are manufactured to meet specific conditions including special
compounds to British Specifications. Nitrile
is resistant to oils, greases, liquid fuels and a wide range of industrial solvents. Nitrile can be compounded to give good abrasion
resistant and mechanical properties. White Food Quality Nitrile Rubber Sheeting is
ideally suited for use with fatty or greasy foodstuffs e.g. dairy, meat and fishing
industries. |
| EPDM |
Ethylene
Propylene Diene Monomer is weather, ozone, steam and chemical resistant. Having a good electrical and low permeability
characteristics, EPDM compounds are being used in increasing quantities by the engineering
industry. |
| Butyl |
Manufactured 1.7 metres wide 0.75mm
thick, which can be fabricated to the required size using uncured butyl tape and a special
heat bonding process.
See also Butyl Liners. |
| Polyurethane |

| Viton® |
A
very high grade synthetic for the most demanding applications. Viton has excellent resistance to oxygen, ozone
and natural weathering. Viton is resistant to
many of the more pernicious chemicals and solvents and mainly used for hydrocarbons and
oxidizing acids at high temperatures. Flame
resistant with the exceptional heat resistance. |
| Silicone |
Silicone
is a heat resistant synthetic generally suitable for temperatures ranging from -100°C
to +200°c
and above. Inherent non-stick
properties, most grades are odorless and tasteless and have a good dielectric properties. Tensile properties are not high and Silicone has
poor abrasion resistance. |
| Food Quality |
A white
non-tainting rubber sheeting, ideal for any application involving contact with non-fatty
foodstuffs or portable liquids. Shore
hardness 55/65° and from 1.5mm
to 10mm thick. |
| Electrically
Tested |
Electrically Tested Matting is
tested and approved to British Standard 921 1976. |
| Matting |
Rubber Matting is available in fine
fluted and broad ribbed in various thickness. |
