Butyl Rubber
Our BUTYLITE range of rubber sheetings are durable materials with properties that make them particularly suitable for use in the storage, treatment, conveying and containment of water, effluent and chemical solutions. Butylite has excellent weathering properties and a good resistance to attack from most chemicals. Butyl sheeting has been used successfully as a lining membrane for reservoirs, effluent lagoons, irrigation channels, waste disposal pits, metal tanks, ornamental pools and reed filtration beds. It is also used in non lining applications such as expansion jointing, waterproof covers flexible liquid storage and transportation bags and in waterproofing membranes for all types of roofs. Butyl sheet is manufactured 1.7 metres wide 0.75mm thick, which can be fabricated to the required size using uncured butyl tape and a special heat bonding process. When calculating the size of a liner required the following should be taken into account. Liner Length = Overall length plus twice the maximum depth Liner Width = Overall width plus twice the maximum depth SPECIFICATIONS
